Oburu Oginga’s Birthday Photos Emerge After Weeks of Health Speculation

ODM leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga made his first public appearance after weeks of speculation about his health. Photos show him celebrating his 83rd birthday on October 15 with his two wives and Nairobi Hospital staff at a cake-cutting gathering. In a birthday message, he also commemorated his younger brother, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who died on October 15, 2025. Oburu missed the first anniversary commemoration of Raila’s death; his family had said he was recuperating and doctors had advised him to avoid politically charged events.
