October 1: I met Nigeria a sick patient  - Tinubu - Daily Post Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu stated during his nationwide broadcast on Nigeria's 66th Independence Day that Nigeria in 2023 was like a sick patient who received the terrible news of having cancer. He said he is taking a different path by implementing tough reforms that previous leaders, including Muhammadu Buhari, failed to carry out. Tinubu criticized past leadership for focusing on symptoms with temporary solutions and avoiding hard truths, allowing issues to worsen within Nigerian society.
