Ogun State and NNPC have begun discussions to revive the long-delayed Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas (OKLNG) project in Ogun Waterside, as part of a $7 billion maritime and industrial development. A week earlier, Ogun signed an MoU with DP World for the Gateway Deep Sea Port and Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, expected to attract over $7 billion in investments and create more than 50,000 jobs. The LNG project, which has been on hold for over three decades, is seen as a key energy hub for the region, with talks focusing on land acquisition and incentives to facilitate its launch.
