Operatives of the Obalende Division of Ogun State Police arrested Chinedu Onwuemena, 41, and Jimoh Ojo, 37, on Monday at about 5:30pm, foiling a plot to kidnap a Chinese national along the Ijebu-Ode/Odogbolu Expressway corridor. The suspects planned to demand a ransom of ₦50 million. Onwuemena, who worked as an interpreter and driver for the victim's company, allegedly exploited his position to facilitate the plan. A third accomplice is at large, and investigations are ongoing.
