Ogun town planners raise alarm over uncoordinated development

The Chairman of the Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria, ATOPCON, Ogun State Branch, TPL Rauf Adebanjo, warned that increasing development pressure along major growth corridors could lead to uncoordinated physical development if not properly managed. He emphasized that Ogun State is experiencing rapid urbanization and industrial expansion, facing challenges in infrastructure, housing, transportation, environmental management, land-use conversion, and development control. Adebanjo urged members to improve their knowledge and adopt modern planning tools such as GIS, digital mapping, and climate-resilient approaches.
