The socio-cultural organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo condemned harmful eating habits among residents of the South-East, attributing them to many modern illnesses. During an empowerment exercise, Dunukofia chapter chairman Chief Uchenna Nwoye stated that local condiments are healthier and cheaper than fast food. The initiative supported 60 women with financial assistance of 20,000 Naira each to promote Igbo food culture.
