Ohanaeze urges Nigerian govt to rehabilitate Owerri-Aba Expressway

The Global Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has urged the Nigerian Federal Government to urgently rehabilitate and reconstruct the Owerri-Aba Expressway, emphasizing its economic significance for Southeast Nigeria. The organization praised ongoing interventions on the First Niger Bridge and other federal roads but highlighted the deteriorated condition of the Owerri-Aba corridor, which is vital for transporting goods, agricultural produce, and passengers. It called on Minister David Umahi to conduct an on-the-spot inspection to identify sections needing emergency repairs and safety measures, stressing the highway's strategic importance.
