Oil drilling rig lands at Mombasa

The drilling rig for the South Lokichar commercial oil project has arrived at the port of Mombasa, bringing Kenya closer to becoming an oil exporter. Gulf Energy E&P BV SEZ, the company responsible for the oil production, confirmed the rig's arrival, which will be transported to South Lokichar to meet the December 2026 deadline for first commercial oil production. This marks a significant milestone in Kenya's oil industry development.
