Oil Palm: 55 Certified Nurserymen for a More Efficient Sector

On September 26, 2026, the Rubber-Oil-Coconut Palm Council (CHPC) held a certification ceremony in Divo for about fifty nurserymen trained to produce quality oil palm seedlings, replacing the 'all-comers' plants. The training, funded by CHPC and delivered by PALMCI, covered four key modules to professionalize the sector and ensure the production of resilient, high-yield plants. The oil palm sector accounts for 4% of Ivory Coast's GDP and supports two million people, with plans to establish 150,000 hectares of new plantations over the next decade.
