Oil Palm: 55 Certified Nurserymen for a More Efficient Sector in Divo

On September 26, 2026, the Hévéa-Oil Palm-Coconut Council (CHPC) held a certification ceremony in Divo, training about fifty nurserymen from production areas over six days in Divo, Tabou, and Maféré. Funded by CHPC and conducted by PALMCI, the training covered agronomic fundamentals, plant lifecycle, material selection, and regulations to produce quality plants and phase out random seedlings by 2027. Certification provides official recognition, enhances credibility, and ensures access to high-quality germinated seeds, supporting sector modernization. The oil palm sector accounts for 4% of Ivory Coast's GDP and employs 2 million people, with plans to establish 150,000 hectares of new plantations over ten years.
