Wanjiru Kamau, 82, runs five kilometers three times a week in Meru County, Kenya. She belongs to the Meru chapter of Masters Athletics Kenya, a national network of athletes aged 60 to 100. The group was founded in 2015 by Stephen Michubu Linguya to combat chronic illnesses from inactivity. These older runners demonstrate that running is not just for the young, despite initial ridicule.
