Olu Jacobs was a national icon — Omokri

Reno Omokri, Nigeria's Ambassador-designate to Mexico, described the late actor Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, as a national icon. He emphasized that Jacobs played a key role in laying the foundation for the contemporary African film industry and broke international barriers long before Nollywood became a global phenomenon. Omokri also recalled Jacobs' memorable performances in British television productions and international films.
