Olwethu Makhanya shines on and off the pitch in Scotland

Olwethu Makhanya, Bafana Bafana defender, is enjoying life in Scotland, where he was named Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for September after helping his team win all four matches, conceding only once and keeping three clean sheets. He was seen with veteran South African entertainer Mara Louw at the unveiling of the Nelson Mandela statue in Glasgow. Makhanya was also called up to the South African national team during the recent FIFA international break, playing key roles in AFCON qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea.
