LAWMA begins expansion works at Olusosun dumpsite to boost waste evacuation

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has begun stabilisation and expansion works on tipping platforms E1 and E2 at the Olusosun dumpsite in Ojota. Carried out with Zoomlion Nigeria Limited, the works are intended to increase capacity, let more trucks unload at the same time, and improve operational safety and speed. He urged PSP operators, truck drivers and other industry stakeholders to cooperate to minimise disruption during construction.

Authorities are urged to strengthen heat warnings and health preparedness, while residents are advised to stay hydrated, seek shade and check on vulnerable people.
