School Blockades: A Friday of High Tension in France

Nearly 400 out of 3,700 high schools in France were closed on Friday due to the blockade movement, with many institutions switching to remote classes. The protests, affecting over a quarter of French high schools and about thirty universities, involved urban violence, especially in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Rennes. Demonstrators are protesting against lack of resources, teachers, and also raising issues related to working conditions and the tense social climate ahead of the presidential election.
