Crypto payments in Kenya surge to a record Sh740bn

Kenyans transferred a record Sh740 billion ($5.7 billion) worth of cryptocurrencies in the year to June. The value of transactions rose 38% from Sh505 billion ($3.89 billion), according to crypto analytics firm Chainalysis. The increase reflects growing use of digital currencies for everyday financial activity, including cross-border payments and investments.
