Ossiomo Power alleges N100m facility vandalism, accuses Edo Police of double standards

Ossiomo Power Company says electricity equipment worth more than N100 million was stolen or vandalised at its Ologbo facilities in Edo State between September 2025 and September 2026. The company accused the Edo State Police Command of neglecting its complaints, including a report about stolen 33kV cables in November 2025 and an incident on September 23, 2026, which it attributed to Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology Co. Ltd (CCETC) staff and associates. It said cables and conductors allegedly stolen from the site were found at Ologbo police station and returned by the divisional police officer, but no suspects had been arrested or questioned. Management also said suspected armed thieves forced their way into its IPP2 plant on Wednesday night.

The 2026 budget allocated CFAF 2,031.15 billion to the BIP out of a general budget of CFAF 8,683.9 billion, or 23.4%; these are budgeted credits, not actual spending.
