Osun APC backtracks, renames ‘parallel’ list as parliamentary campaign committee

The Osun State APC renamed its presidential and parliamentary campaign committee as a parliamentary campaign committee after members protested and the party’s national leadership rejected the list. The original list, issued under Osun APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal, named the party’s governorship candidate as director-general, although Governor Ademola Adeleke had already inaugurated the state’s presidential campaign committee. Four state executive committee members objected that the list lacked due process and inclusiveness. The revised list retains the APC’s candidate for the August 15 governorship election as director-general and says the party will work to secure victories for its National and State Assembly candidates.
