Ouahbi clarifies Morocco's FIFA ranking: "we can't chase after it"

Mohamed Ouahbi, Morocco's coach, stated that although the team reached 5th place in the FIFA rankings, their main goal remains winning the Africa Cup of Nations. After a 1-1 draw against Mali, Morocco dropped to 7th place, but Ouahbi emphasizes focusing on the continental tournament rather than FIFA points. He refuses to let FIFA ranking influence team preparation, favoring challenging opponents to better prepare for the competition. He notes that consistency in rankings does not equate to success in major tournaments.
