Outrage as Benue youths block Peter Obi from visiting Yelewata

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, was blocked by youths in Benue from visiting Yelewata community, chanting hostile slogans on the Makurdi-Gboko Road. Obi was on his way to make donations to victims of a June 2025 armed attack. He described the situation as ridiculous and worrisome, emphasizing his intention to support families affected by the violence. Following the incident, he had to turn back to the airport and leave the state.
