Eleven days after the official declaration of the Ebola outbreak, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded at least 1,000 symptomatic cases, including 101 confirmed cases and 17 deaths. Public Health Minister Roger Kamba stated that 230 people are currently being treated in the Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu provinces. Approximately 3,600 people have been in contact with the sick, and the government is focusing on symptom management in the absence of a vaccine for the Bundibugyo strain.
