Over 400 Cholera Cases Reported in Pweto Amid Water Shortage

Over 400 cholera cases, including more than 300 recoveries and 23 deaths, have been recorded in Pweto since August 26. The water shortage caused by a power outage affecting the water distribution system has led residents to use lake Moero water, aiding the spread of the epidemic. The Haut-Katanga provincial government has supplied medicines and Aquatabs to treat water, improving the situation, but patient care continues in three health zones: Boma, Tshalanshi, and Katabe.
