A Federal High Court in Lagos has restrained the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) from shutting down Dangote Petroleum Refinery under the guise of performing oversight functions. Judge Akintayo Aluko issued the order in response to a motion filed by the refinery, challenging a directive from NMDPRA dated August 24, 2026, which suspended loading and truck-out of products. The court also granted an interim injunction to prevent any interference with the refinery's operations located in the Lekki Free Zone.
