Oyo abduction: We took operation to rescue victims personally – IRT, SIS officers

Police officers from the IRT and SIS, in coordination with the military, rescued 44 abducted pupils and teachers of Oriire schools in Oyo. One police sergeant, John Jerome Mbena, was killed during the operation, and several other officers sustained injuries. Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu paid tribute to the forces and assured care for the wounded and the family of the fallen officer.
