Two years after Taraba bridge collapse, Namnai river crossing claims another victim

The prolonged neglect of the collapsed Namnai Bridge in Taraba has led to another tragedy when a vehicle carrying two workers, returning from Gassol, plunged into a flooded river while attempting to cross by ferry. The incident occurred when the vehicle collided with another ferry in the middle of the river, which was overflowing with strong currents. One worker was rescued, but the other remains missing, with fears that he was swept away by the current. Residents criticize the authorities for failing to provide a permanent solution more than two years after the bridge was washed away in August 2024.
