Pakistan’s Rauf sanctioned for conduct contrary to cricket’s ‘spirit’

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf was reprimanded and fined 20 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during Sunday’s ODI against England. At the end of Pakistan’s 46th over, he disputed a wide appeal with Will Jacks, raised his bat and continued the exchange despite umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid’s warning, then brushed past the umpire as he walked towards Jacks. The ICC added one demerit point, bringing Rauf’s total to five after his third offence in 24 months. England were separately fined 15 percent of their match fee for finishing three overs behind the required rate.
