Palace: The Imam Ndao case brought to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye's attention

An appeal for an exceptional pardon will be submitted to Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye by a group of former detainees, activists, and human rights defenders concerning the last prisoners of the late Imam Ndao's group. Four members still held at the Liberté 6 penal camp, including Matar Diokhané, sentenced to 20 years, and Ibrahima Diallo and Abdou Hakim Mbacké Bao, sentenced to 15 years, are awaiting potential early release. Their sentences were confirmed in 2024 after a lengthy appeal process, and with all other members having already regained their freedom, their case now hinges on the presidential pardon.
