Palestinians denounce Israeli minister Ben-Gvir’s threats against prisoner

The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission condemned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir after he posted footage showing him threatening to kill Palestinian prisoner Hassan Salama, who has been imprisoned for 30 years. In the video, Ben-Gvir expressed his desire to execute Salama, convicted for Hamas-organized attacks in 1996, including bus bombings. The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office called the act a 'cheap political stunt' and a 'cowardly act of bullying,' while Hamas warned that Ben-Gvir’s threats signal new crimes against Palestinian detainees. The video was posted shortly before Israel’s October 27 elections.
