Parliamentary Return in DRC: Parliament Faces Major Political, Security, and Budgetary Challenges

Members of the DRC's parliament will resume their work on September 15, 2026, for the ordinary session, primarily focused on reviewing the state budget for 2027, amounting to 57.5 trillion Congolese francs. This session takes place in a tense political context, marked by debates over constitutional reform and security concerns related to Rwandan aggression and ADF activism. President Félix Tshisekedi has also requested a new deliberation on the law concerning the organization of a referendum.
