Shakahola case: Fake pastor Paul Mackenzie sentenced to 200 years in prison

In Kenya, Paul Mackenzie, leader of an apocalyptic evangelical sect, was sentenced to 200 years in prison for the murders of 190 children and one adult between January 2021 and September 2023. Judge Diana Rachel Kavedza-Mochache imposed two consecutive 100-year terms for murders by starvation and direct homicide. Prosecutors had sought the death penalty, but Kenya has not carried out an execution since 1987.
