Period poverty: UNFPA demands pad banks in Nigerian schools

The UNFPA called for the establishment of sanitary pad banks in Nigerian schools to prevent girls from missing classes due to menstruation. Dr. Zubaida Abubakar emphasized that period poverty is worsened by the high cost of menstrual products and inadequate facilities. She also stressed the need to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities in schools to support this initiative.
