Petrol price beyond Tinubu's control - Lokpobiri

Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, stated that President Bola Tinubu's administration cannot reduce petrol prices due to the full deregulation of the oil sector. He explained that petrol pricing is determined by global market forces and any attempt to lower prices would require a return to the subsidy regime. Lokpobiri also dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's proposal for a production subsidy, claiming it had no legal or financial basis.
