On July 14, 2026, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), failed to appear in court for his arraignment on certificate forgery charges. He was scheduled to plead before Justice Mohammed Umar on an eight-count charge including forgery, fraud, and impersonation. Although the case was listed on the court's cause list, the defendant was absent. Adeyemi had earlier claimed he paid N400 million through a proxy to President Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to secure his appointment.
