PHC Receives the 2026 National Model Employer Award for Its Commitment to Employment in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Plantations et Huileries du Congo (PHC), the DRC’s leading palm oil producer, received the 2026 National Model Employer Award from the Ministry of Employment and Labour. Minister Ferdinand Massamba wa Massamba said the inaugural award recognizes companies that comply with labour laws and promote social dialogue. Since beginning its transformation in 2021 under Congolese leadership, with support from majority shareholder Kuramo Capital Management, PHC has increased its direct-contract workforce from 6,500 to 12,000 across its three operating sites. CEO Monique Gieskes welcomed the award and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to employee well-being and professional development.
