Photos: Sanwo-Olu walks the runway alongside models at Lagos Fashion Week

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu surprised the audience by walking the runway at the 2026 Lagos Fashion Week in an outfit designed by Nigerian designer Ugo Monye. The regal off-white look blended a traditional caftan with a kimono-inspired design and was completed with a beige fedora. Sanwo-Olu drew applause and said he was glad to support the people expanding fashion, creativity and culture in Lagos. The event, themed “CRAFTED: Heritage,” began at the Federal Palace Hotel and was scheduled to end on Sunday.
