Plateau Attack: Troops Rescue Five Victims, One Dies in Hospital

Suspected Fulani militia members attacked Tull village in Mangu Local Government Area at about 9:40 p.m. on Sunday. Troops from Operation Enduring Peace, deployed at Gyambwas, responded to reports of gunfire and forced the attackers to retreat. They rescued five residents with gunshot wounds—Fwangshak Gimba, Samson Ibrahim, Omega Elkana, Bamshak Ibrahim and Paul Markus—and took them to Nanreth Hospital. Gimba, 45, later died, while troops stepped up security and launched a manhunt for the fleeing attackers.
