Plateau attacks: Berom diaspora group demands declaration of community terrorists' enclave

The Berom Diaspora Coalition (BDC) has called on the Nigerian government to declare Mahanga in Riyom as a terrorist enclave, describing it as a stronghold for armed Fulani bandits. During a press conference in Jos, BDC representative Barry Barnabas Dazih reported that over 500 people have been killed between November 2025 and April 2026, with Berom villages displaced and ancestral lands occupied by terrorists. The BDC also condemned the destruction of farmlands, crucial to the local economy, further worsening the humanitarian crisis.
