Plateau Petit Poteau Tournament: Sport to Unite Young People and Strengthen Social Cohesion

The first Plateau Petit Poteau Tournament will bring together 37 teams from 14 Abidjan neighborhoods from November 7 to December 26, 2026, with 72 matches scheduled and the Ouattara Dramane (OD) Cup at stake. The launch and draw took place at Jardin des Rails, attended by neighborhood leaders, partners, team representatives and young players. Representing patron Ouattara Dramane, Tenin Bamba Ouattara described grassroots football as a way to bring neighborhoods closer and promote discipline, solidarity and respect. Organizing committee president Aubin Tra said the tournament offers a chance to revive the popular neighborhood football of earlier generations.
