Plateau: Police ban unauthorised use of sirens, covered number plates

The Plateau State Police Command has banned the unauthorized use of sirens and covered number plates, calling the practice illegal and a threat to public safety. Commissioner of Police CP Bassey Ewah ordered all area commanders and divisional police officers to enforce the ban. Under Nigerian law (Section 63 of the Police Act 2020), only authorized officials and emergency services may use sirens. Violators will be arrested, prosecuted, and their vehicles impounded.
