Plateau: Sinaly Tehra (Special Advisor to the Mayor) accuses Abidjan District of acting illegally

Sinaly Tehra, the special advisor to the mayor of Plateau, condemned on NCI's 'La Télé d’Ici' program the manner in which the Abidjan District carried out demolition operations on the lagoon shoreline, claiming it exceeded its authority and violated territorial competence laws. He criticized the use of non-regal forces equipped with machetes, pistols, and clubs to intimidate municipal agents. He also stated that the District does not have the legal power to demolish private or public domain structures, a responsibility he said belongs solely to the Ministry of Construction, and mentioned a plan to expropriate the Plateau municipality for a private development project.
