Plateau: the Municipality denounces the demolition of OXY PARK II and announces legal actions

The Plateau municipality held a press conference on September 24, 2026, to denounce the partial demolition of the Laguna promenade amenities, including Oxy Park II, carried out overnight on September 11-12 by the Autonomous District of Abidjan without prior consultation. The municipal council, supported by political figures, presented a memorandum on the « Smart Plateau » project to transform the lagoon bank into a modern, attractive space funded by the municipal budget. They also raised legal questions about the division of powers between the municipality and the district, considering administrative and judicial actions. A video showing the damage was shown to document the destruction of the site.
