Police apprehend suspected impersonator, recover security uniforms in A'Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested a suspect who posed as a police inspector during a routine stop-and-search in Uyo. The suspect, riding an unregistered motorcycle, produced a fake police warrant card bearing the name Inspector Daniel. A search of his residence in Ikot Ekpene yielded police berets, buttons, insignia, PMF uniforms, a military camouflage sweater, a lawyer's wig, desert boots, and other security accoutrements. Police are investigating the source of the items and possible accomplices.
