Police arrest four chiefs, others over MACBAN chairman's death in Benue

The Benue State Police Command has arrested seven additional suspects, including four traditional chiefs and an 80-year-old man, over the murder of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) chairman in Benue, Ardo Risku Mohammad, and Yakubu Isa. The victims were killed in an ambush on June 26, 2026, near Okudu community while returning from a peace meeting. The arrests were announced by police spokesman DSP Udeme Edet, who stated they followed intelligence-led operations and thorough investigations. Commissioner of Police Cletus Nwadiogbu vowed that all perpetrators would face justice and urged public cooperation.
