The alleged 'Director-General' of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, has been arrested by Nigerian security operatives. He was picked up on Tuesday at his hideout in Osun State after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for his failure to appear in court. The court ordered his arrest under Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. The case has been adjourned until September 30.

Biggest cover-up - Sowore speaks on arrest of fake PFIPC DG, Adeniyi Adeyemi

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore described the arrest of the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, as 'the biggest cover-up ever.' Sowore alleged that the arrest and reported dehumanisation of Adeyemi suggest an official cover-up rather than a genuine search for truth, and called for the arrest and investigation of President Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. He further claimed that the individual alleged to have collected a ₦400 million bribe on Gbajabiamila's behalf has died under mysterious circumstances, and the hotel used for the transaction has been demolished. Adeyemi was arrested after a warrant was issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges of forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
