Police CP engages Zamfara community on security issues

The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP A. M Bello, paid an operational visit to Bela and Gada communities in Bungudu Local Government Area. He engaged the Emir of Bungudu, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, and other traditional rulers and stakeholders on security issues. Appeal Court reserves judgment on appeals against deregistration of ADC, 4 others

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved judgment on appeals seeking to set aside the Federal High Court judgment that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties. The other parties are the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party (AP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). The appellate court had previously stayed execution of the judgment, criticizing Justice Peter Lifu for disregarding a stay of proceedings order. The High Court had ordered deregistration for failing to meet constitutional requirements, barring the parties from participating in the 2027 general elections.
