Police open investigation into 2026 Ballon d’Or betting

French police have opened an investigation into suspected insider trading after 12 accounts on a prediction market correctly forecast the exact top-five order in the men's Ballon d’Or. Harry Kane won the award, ahead of Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Lionel Messi. At least €250,000 was wagered across the accounts, generating nearly €200,000 in profits. The bettors’ management of their market positions also raised suspicions of insider trading.

Three Suspected Kidnappers Killed as Troops Raid Forests in Kogi

Troops from Operation Whirl Stroke killed three suspected kidnappers on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, during an operation in the Edimogbo and Obele forests in Nigeria’s Kogi State.
