Police place Sokoto community on red alert over planned bandit attack

The Sokoto State Police has raised its security alert level in Kebbe Local Government Area following intelligence reports of a planned attack by suspected bandits. The bandits reportedly demanded a N40 million levy and threatened to kill residents and burn the town if the money was not paid. This alert comes two weeks after a deadly bandit attack left several people dead and many abducted in the area.
