Suspected bandits attacked Ribah, in Zuru Local Government Area, twice on 30 October 2026. Joint forces comprising police, military personnel and local vigilantes foiled an attempt to block the Ribah–Dirin Daji Road, then repelled the attackers after they regrouped and fired across the town. Hassan Boder, 47, a security guard at a newly built filling station, was fatally shot during the exchange. Police have intensified patrols and are working to track down and arrest those responsible.
