‘Political differences won’t affect my affection for you’: Tinubu congratulates Kwankwaso at 70

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu congratulated Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on his 70th birthday, saying their political differences would not diminish his affection for him. Tinubu recalled that their relationship began in the National Assembly in 1992, continued when they became governors in 1999, and brought them together again in founding the APC in 2013. He praised Kwankwaso’s record, including two terms as Kano State governor, service as defence minister and senator, and a presidential campaign. The two are preparing to contest on separate political platforms in the January 2027 election.
