Political Reinforcement: President Bassirou Diomaye Faye's New Offensive in Mbour

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is intensifying his political strategy in Mbour, a department with 16 communes and nearly 400,000 voters. He received ten mayors from the area, including Cheikh Issa Sall and Dr Téning Sène, to prepare for the launch of his new political party on August 8. These local officials, mostly from the former Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition, are expected to become founding members. Mbour, once a stronghold of the Socialist Party and later APR, is a key battleground after Faye's 2024 victory under PASTEF.
